Question 3:
With reference to the article and your own research, how has the topic impacted on consumption in your specific media sector?

The specific media sector that I looked at was Television which meant for my research I was to look further into where children are consuming TV.

From the research I have gathered, it was brought to my attention that children prefer using their smartphones and tablets rather than watching television as you are now able to access TV apps on these devices making it easier to watch shows on the go. This supports the conclusions drawn in the article as they implied that smartphone and tablet apps have decreased TV users.

Also, I saw a pattern throughout my secondary research showing me that TV shows tend to be watched on catch up rather than on live TV, which can be due to having catch up shows on apps for smartphones and tablets’ such as; BBC I player, ITV hub and Netflix or even watching the content on YouTube
.
TV viewings have decreased over the years and catch up TV has been increasing due to other devices being more important to them as they would rather go on their smartphones and use social media to interact with other rather than sit and watch a show. This is connects to the research I have found from the conclusions drawn in the 2016 OFCOM article.

I also found that children aged 8 to 15 prefer to use YouTube over television which could be due to the fact that YouTube is broad and can act as a social media as well as another option for watching content. This causes an impact on production as it shows they would rather use other social media platforms and Television will no longer have a high target audience.

=- You need to address the evidence in the article, you don't refer to any of the findings or conclusion from OFCOM with any specific stats or data

"TV shows tend to be watched on catch up rather than on live TV, which can be due to having catch up shows on apps for smartphones and tablets’ such as; BBC I player, ITV hub and Netflix or even watching the content on YouTube" - where is the explanation of this and discussion of the impact this is having on consumption?

Some understanding of the significance of the outcomes of research

Minimal connections made to media debates occasionally related to the topic of the article
    - Uses & Gratifications, why are they consuming in this way?
What impact is this having on television?
What does your secondary say about this - the OFCOM 2016 report?
